Conference

2018: Who ministers what to whom?

Theologians look at ministry in the Catholic Church today

This year’s conference was held from 3rd to 6th September 2018 at The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire

More than 60 delegates took part, and reflected together on both the theological significance of ministry, and the lived experience of those who minister, and of those who are ministered to. The conference could not ignore the crisis caused by clerical sexual abuse, and its implications for ministry in the Church; the programme was amended to include a plenary discussion of the issue, with input from theologians and those qualified in the fields of psychology and psychotherapy.

Next year’s conference will be held from 2nd to 5th September 2019, at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.

The CTA is always ready to welcome new members who are actively involved in some way in the promotion of theology through their teaching.
